Star Hunting Party

This sounds like a cool thing: http://www.globe.gov/GaN/index.html

Basically, this group is asking people to record how well they can see the stars for about a week at the end of March. This might be a good excuse for a scout star gazing event. Any excuse to bring out my telescope is good! It's nothing too fancy, but it is good enough to see some interesting things.

Comments:
The only times I've really spent star gazing were back when Halley's Comet was zipping by - which always reminds me immediately of Kliban's "How I hate that Halley's Comet, it makes me sick, I want to vomit."

I got to see it twice. The weekend at Byron's folks cabins, and at Joshua Tree with the gang (and the oasis, and Bob rockclimbing without any gear, and Lee & I sleeping in the back of his Escort).

And no, I don't have such a great memory, I have a great PHOTO ALBUM.

:P
